3 Items That Every New Vegan Should Invest In

The time has come…let go of your old, worn out Chinese take-out containers.  They have served their purpose, but it’s time to move on.  Plus, they’ll never compare to a really nice set of matching tupperware.  Your new vegan lifestyle will require some preparation and having a brand new shiny set of tupperware will inspire you to make use of them. vegan food containers

Tiny tupperware is great because you can fill them with nuts and fruit for snacks on the go.  Here’s a tip:  As soon as you bring home your groceries, open up a few medium sized tupperware and fill them with leafy greens, shredded carrots, sunflower seeds, cherry tomatoes, salt and pepper.  Stop the groaning, it’ll only take 10 minutes.  By doing this, you’re creating  pre-made salads for your week.  (Of course, don’t put any dressing yet…we don’t want pre-made soggy salads.)

Also, when you have time, boil some pasta and put it in a tupperware.  Make a batch of quinoa and put it in a tupperware.  Season some beans or chickpeas…throw them in a tupperware.   You see where I’m going with this?  Make stuff in advance and store it in tupperware so that food prep is easy-peazy when you’re ready to cook.

For me, the hardest part about going vegan was sticking to it outside of my home.  When I was out and about, vegan options were limited.  This is why tupperware is so crucial.  I cannot tell you how many times my snacks and home-made lunches saved me!  I never wanted to be an inconvenience to people, or cause a big scene about what I can eat…so I just began taking a lunchbox everywhere.   Which brings me to my next point…buy a lunchbox!  I know it sounds childish, but they really come in handy!  They provide insulation to keep your food warm.  To keep things chilled, throw an ice-pack inside.  I like LunchBox.com because they have all types of fun accessories in addition to some awesome ‘grown-up’ lunchboxes.  lunchboxes | vegan food

The third life-saver for a new vegan is something you should keep inside your new lunchbox at all times:  ‘Simple Girl’ salad dressing packets.   Trust me, these little packets are worth every penny.  They’ll save you from traveling with a full-sized bottle of dressing.  These are also great to bring with you to restaurants just in case they don’t have a vegan dressing option.  vegan salad dressing packetsThis particular brand is my fave because they’re made with love; gluten free, carb free, vegan, and less than 3g of sugar per pack!  Find them on www.SimpleGirl.com and check out their whole collection of clean, healthy dressings and sauces.

There you have it, vegan newbie.  Three new things to buy: Tupperware, Lunchbox, and Dressing Packets.  Your welcome 😉

I promise this gets to be quite easy once you find your rhythm.  Preparing my next day’s lunch has become a nightly routine for me, like brushing my teeth.  I hope this is helpful!  Got questions? Leave me a comment!

  2. Hi.
Do you know of anywhere in the UK that stock the salad dressing sachets?
My sister has recently gone vegan and thought this would be great to go in the hamper I’m putting together for her bday.
    Thanks in advance.
