Mother Nature & Me

Attention South Florida veggie mamas: Join me, Veronica Green, at the Delray Beach Children’s Garden every Wednesday morning from 9:30am  to 10:30am.  I am thrilled to announce that I’ve been asked to host the weekly Mother Nature & Me classes at this very special community garden.  Bring the little ones to enjoy story time, arts & crafts, and nature exploration. Fun fun and more fun! Cost is $10 per child.  For more info, or to pay in advance, visit DelrayBeachChildrensGarden.org

Whether it’s at a garden, a beach, a park, or even your backyard, playing outdoors is a great way to help your little ones develop an appreciation for nature.  Aside from your diet, a large part of the  vegan lifestyle is about reducing your ecological footprint.  (recycling, using eco-friendly products, conserving water use, etc.)  If you wish for your child to continue these practices into adulthood, they must first develop a love for the Earth.

They need to explore trees, flowers, soil and bugs…they need to get their hands dirty and and feel the sunshine on their face.  To simply tell children that recycling is important is only creating a routine.  But allowing them to feel at-one with the planet, and then explaining to them how recycling  saves the planet…now that’s how you create life-long vegans!
